Throughout the last century, manmade images frequently comment on man’s relationship
to nature and technology; revealing a relationship that is simultaneously conflicting and complimentary. This complex
relationship presents frequently in my creative process and in the subject matter of my work.
Iconic images of nature are threaded throughout some of my design work and continue to be a source of
exploration in my creative process. Increasingly life begins to imitate art as I accumulate experiences
such as rock-climbing, single-track mountain bike riding, and hiking the Appalachian Trail, providing
rich opportunities for source materials and inspiration for future design.
Graphic design practice and exploration of nature continue to fracture my time and personal interests.
Both are fulfilling activities which inspire me to grow personally and professionally. My goal as a designer is
to increasingly integrate these two worlds. |
